Perseverance Through Loss

After multiple poems that I have read and a few that I wrote, I decided to do a textual analysis on “Eating Together” by Li-Young Lee. Being strong for the family as the roles has changed, Father is no longer at the head of the family.

Even though his father has recently passed and the pain is still there, his family will keep on living and doing the things they have always done as a family. Being the only member of a family to pass on does give off that feeling that they will be lonely for some time since there is no one else there with them.

For my final project, I wanted to embrace the vulnerability of my experience of the loss of my father and how we interoperate the things we learn from. I had created a word cloud to visualize what the heart longs for. In which it sorta brings things together. The loss and loneliness of moving on, is more about how the we as a family keep going even after there death.

Analyzing the shape of the heart there is love and unity which are essential for families, without these two traits, a family can be in turmoil. After the loss of a loved one, these traits are especially important, as the period of time shortly following this loss is when families are the most vulnerable to shattering.
